Keep Clientside Player Ragdoll by Malakai

I'd like to credit the original author of Ragdoll Death for the original addon (this is simply a heavy modification of it,) and I'd like to thank Mawskeeto for helping me with adding proper ragdoll velocity.

This script aims to be an alternative to serverside death ragdoll addons in that it keeps players' clientside ragdolls after they respawn, so there's no impact on connection. Garry's Mod kept clientside player ragdolls until Garry's Mod 10, so yes, you could call this a throwback to GMod 9.


Why does the ragdoll delay a tiny amount?

It's necessary because otherwise it doesn't keep the player's velocity.

Two models appear and the other immediately disappears.

Disable PAC3 and any gore mods.

How many ragdolls can there be?

The number of ragdolls is limited by the command g_ragdoll_maxcount. The default value is 32. Set g_ragdoll_fadespeed and g_ragdoll_lvfadespeed to 0 for ragdolls to never disappear!

Why don't the ragdolls keep my color?

The ragdoll entity, C_ClientRagdoll, doesn't support player color, nor facial expressions. This isn't my fault - if you're going to yell at anyone, yell at Rubat.

I will remove this addon if the original author of Ragdoll Death doesn't want it to be here.

This download looks like an addon. You need to extract the downloaded zip and put the addon folder in your Garry's Mod addons folder. You should end up with a directory structure similar to below:

              • e.g.
