gm_forest_construct_v1-2

This is near enough the last map I made back in the day. These days I can see it has a few flaws here and there in design and quality, but it serves its purpose I guess. It's not particularly big but the forest is more dense than anything you'll see in EP2. It's probably good for small builds, testing off-road vehicles and for use in machinima.

Features:
• Some paths through the forest
• A clear highway cutting halfway across the map
• a blue gm_construct-style building raised and overlooking a flat area, useful for building

Requires:
HL2 episode two. You won't get much of the map content without this, including the ground textures and the trees.

I was originally going to make a sequel to this map, I tried many time with different ideas for layout and was never satisfied. One of the biggest challenges was getting a decent framerate with a massive number of trees. But now I have a better idea of how it could be done, so if you would like to see a sequel just give a word here and if it seems like there's some interest, I'll pick up mapping again!

This download looks like an addon. You need to extract the downloaded zip and put the addon folder in your Garry's Mod addons folder. You should end up with a directory structure similar to below:

            • gm_forest_construct_v1-2 <-- Addon folder!
              • e.g.

              • etc
