Hello everyone (: this is my first upload ever to garrysmod.org :D
I first got the idea of creating an alyxgun when I decided to play Half-Life 2: Episode 1&2 through garrysmod and I kept on getting the "Attempting to create Unknown Entity: Weapon_Alyxgun." error whenever alyx was supposed to take out her gun. ;]
This mod will fix that issue, as well as give you the option to give other NPCs an alyxgun. For the most part, the alyxgun works with all friendly NPCs. If you were to give one to a metro-cop,or another nonfriendly NPC, you may or may not get a lot of LUA errors.. if you do, im not sure why this happens, im a bit new to LUA so yea :D hehe if i do find a way to fix that though, I will upload a fix (:
If the gun doesn't show up in the NPC list, then you may already have a custom NPC_Weapons list somewhere ^^ if thats the case, then just add this line of code to that list, and all issues should be fixed :] " list.Set("NPCWeapons", "weapon_alyxgun", "Alyx Gun") "
This couldn't have been made possible without the help of the 'Mad Cow Weapons' pack, Most of the credit for the code goes to the creator of the pack, he did an awesome job. ^^ I made some changes to the code and fixed the damage of the weapon to the real value of the Alyxgun from Half Life 2. :]
If you are having issues with the crosshairs, you are able to turn them off by pressing "Q" and going to the options section, to the right, and then under "Mad Cow Weapons" you can switch the crosshairs on or off (: (Personally I like having them switched off, it feels more like a HL2 weapon ;D )
Even though it may not seem like it, I put a lot of work into the weapon selection icon. :P I hand drew the icon, and later tried my best to give it the real "Half Life 2" weapon icon color and effect through paint.net (: I think it came out nicely :D
I noticed that most alyx gun's on garrysmod.org didn't have a killicon, so I decided to make a kilicon for it aswell ^^ I made the icon the same sha

This download looks like an addon. You need to extract the downloaded zip and put the addon folder in your Garry's Mod addons folder. You should end up with a directory structure similar to below:
